How this works
One megabyte is the limit that shows up everywhere: job application forms, school portals, insurance claims, ticketing systems. A modern phone photo is three to six times that, which is why perfectly ordinary pictures get rejected.
Type 1 MB as the target and Under1MB searches for the highest JPEG quality that lands beneath it, reporting exactly where it landed. If the photo is enormous in pixels, allow resizing and it will get there with room to spare.
Questions
Will the photo look worse?+
Usually not noticeably. Most phone photos reach 1 MB at a quality level where the difference is invisible at normal viewing size.
What if it can't get under 1 MB?+
We'll tell you plainly and offer to resize the dimensions, which always works.
Does Under1MB only handle files under 1 MB?+
No. The name is the job people come for. Any size goes in, and you can target any size out.
