Privacy
Do my files ever get uploaded?+
No. Every conversion, compression and resize runs in your browser. Open your Network tab and watch — nothing is sent.
What do you store about me?+
Nothing about your files. We record anonymous page views and which tools are used, with no file names, contents or sizes.
Does Under1MB strip EXIF and GPS data?+
Yes. Re-encoding an image drops its metadata, so downloads carry no camera or location data.
Using the tools
What's the difference between convert and compress?+
Convert changes the format. Compress keeps the format and shrinks the file. Convert also compresses at a smart default.
How do I hit an exact file size?+
On any compress page, type the target — for example 1 MB or 500 KB. We search for the highest quality that fits.
Can I process a whole folder?+
Drop as many files as your browser can hold and download them as one ZIP.
What does 'fit' versus 'exact' mean when resizing?+
Fit scales the image to sit inside your dimensions and keeps the proportions. Exact crops to fill them precisely.
Formats
How many formats are supported?+
11 today, across web, photo and design files.
Which formats can Under1MB write?+
PNG, JPEG, WEBP, AVIF, BMP and ICO. Formats like HEIC, GIF and SVG can be read and converted out of.
What about TIFF, PSD and RAW?+
Not yet. TIFF, TGA, PSD, PSB, CR2, CR3 and more are on the roadmap.
Why did my AVIF export fail?+
Some browsers can read AVIF but not write it. We check before you start and tell you upfront if your browser can't.

Do I need an account?+
No. There is no signup anywhere on the site.
Does it cost anything?+
No. Everything here is free and unlimited.
Does it work offline?+
Once the page is loaded, processing needs no connection at all.
Which browsers work?+
Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, including iOS. Some export formats depend on your browser's own support, which we detect.
