Privacy policy
The short version: your images never leave your device.
Your images
Your images are never uploaded. All conversion, compression and resizing happens inside your browser, on your own device.
Because your files are never transmitted, we cannot read, store, copy, share or recover them. There is no deletion policy because there is nothing to delete.
What we measure
We use Plausible for privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics. It records anonymous page views and simple events such as "a conversion was started" or "a download happened".
These events never include file names, file contents, file sizes, image dimensions or anything derived from your images.
We do not set advertising cookies, we do not build user profiles, and we do not sell data.
Network requests
This site makes exactly two kinds of network request: loading the page itself (HTML, styles, scripts, fonts and images), and sending anonymous analytics events.
You can verify this yourself: open your browser's Network tab, process a file, and watch that no request carries your image.
Data stored on your device
Files you drop in stay in your browser's memory for as long as the page is open and are discarded when you close or reload it.
We do not store your images in local storage, cookies or any browser database.
Metadata in your downloads
Re-encoding an image removes EXIF metadata, including camera details and GPS coordinates. Files you download from Under1MB carry no location data.
Third parties
Our hosting provider serves the site's files and processes standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.
Plausible receives the anonymous analytics events described above.
No other third party receives anything.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you beyond anonymous aggregate analytics, there is nothing to access, export or erase. If you have a question, contact us and we will answer plainly.
